Cozy Evening

I am getting ready to enjoy my new Christmas slippers and look through several of my favorite magazines that I have recieved in the past few days. It is still raining here and storms are all around us. Looking forward to a cozy evening at home. Have a great night.

The Mountains Of Colorado

I look up to the mountains - Does my help come from here? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!(Psalm 121-1-2) New Living Translation

Hope you have a wonderful day today! It is still raining here and many areas are flooding. I am so thankful that we are safe and dry. My heart kept singing this verse yesterday. Our help comes from the Lord. Remember to thank him for all he has done. Be safe, it is wet out there!

A Rainy Day

I woke this morning to sounds of rain on the roof again. We have had an unusual amount of rain for this time of year in Texas. Making travel a bit more difficult. But, I am confident that God has a plan for all of this rain. Making sure that this good earth has been refreshed by the water. Hope you have a wonderful week. Stay warm and dry!

Sunday Dinner

We woke up this morning to a nice cool fall day. I have been busy tidying the house, lit some wonderful pumpkin candles and opened the windows to let the fresh air in. I tied on my favorite apron and set to work. Today we will have roast, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, green beans and homemade rolls. I have made lemon curd tarts for dessert. YUM! Of course I cant have one because it is not on my eating program. But the family will enjoy it I am sure.
Hope your Sunday is wonderful! Take time to remember who created this glorious day!

A Long Day

We are back home from our trip to Eureka Springs. I got home just in time to wash the laundry, unpack the suitcases and put everything away. I had to work today and of course Mondays are, well....Mondays. I came home late and made a nice cup of tea. Planning to settle in tonight and relax for a few minutes. I have new magazines to read that have arrived over the weekend. But, I must study. I have a test tomorrow night. I must study! I keep telling myself this, and I really want to take a small peak at the new Country Living magazine that is calling my name. I really do not have very much willpower. I have passed by the reeses peanut butter cups that I love in favor of a handful of roasted almonds. So its not like I havent sacrificed today. Oh well, got to hit the books! See yall later and hope you have a great week.

War Eagle Craft Fair

Hi everyone! We are on vacation this week and enjoying the craft fair at War Eagle Mills in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Sorry the photos are little blurry. The wind is blowing and it is a little bit chilly as well.
In front of the store they have a live band playing bluegrass music for all to enjoy. We bought a CD. They are a very talented group of men!

I couldnt resist buying a few more cookbooks to add to my collection. Of course, I had to stock up on the the great biscuit mix. I had purchased some last year and it just didnt last long enough. Fortunately they offer a mail order catalog and will ship it right out. Dont cha just love Barbara Swell cookbooks?? Honey, they are the best. I just love reading about all of the old time recipes and kitchen lore she includes in each one.

There are 130K people here. I wanted to take some great pictures of the river, but couldnt get close enough to get a good shot. The river is really flowing. It has been raining here and it has turned off very chilly. The leaves are gorgeous! I think this has been the best year for foliage I have ever seen.

Thought this pumpkin was too cute! They are made from logs and the guy is using a chainsaw to cut them into shape!

Any guesses what this is? The tag said that it is a baby bed from Australia. The screens were to protect the babies from the dingos. They had it decorated with a large flower arrangment and it was too cute!
Well, I am off to see more of this wonderful old town! Cant wait to eat at the Local Flavor Cafe! We will be sightseeing tomorrow. We are having a wonderful time. I love this city!
